President

Jan Reed was elected to the Board of Education in 2003. She has been married to Al for 22 years and they have two children, Beau and JoLynn. Starting their business, The Topper Factory, Inc. and RV Center, brought Jan and her husband to Pueblo 18 years ago. They became residents of Pueblo West at the same time, planning to raise their family in District No. 70. In her spare time, Jan loves to play a guitar, camp, fish, ski, ATV trail riding and travel. Passionate about students' success, Jan is a great addition to the District No. 70 team as we achieve excellence together.

[Lynette Pantello] Lynette Pantello
Vice President

Lynette Pantello was elected to the District No. 70 School Board in November, 2005, representing District 4. A native of Swink, Colorado, Lynette has lived in Pueblo for the past 14 years, and moved with her husband, Sam, and three children to the St. Charles Mesa in 2004. As one of the newest board members, Lynette wants to be an advocate for students, parents, teachers and the community concerning District Issues. She is very excited about the technology options available for teaching children in today's world.

Lynette is employed by CK Surgical and Aberdeen Surgery Center as the Controller. Her three children are enrolled and very active in District 70 schools. She looks forward to helping District 70 reach its goal of achieving excellence in education.

Board Member

William K. Bregar serves as a member of the Board of Education. He is a life-long resident, graduating from Pueblo County High School in 1967. Bill began his teaching career in District No. 70 in 1971 after graduating from Southern Colorado State College, now CSU-Pueblo. During his 31 years of service to our District students, Bill taught at Beulah School and Pueblo County High, followed by working as a principal at Craver Middle School and then Pleasant View Middle School. He retired in July 2002.

Last July, Bill and his wife, Marlene, celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have three grown sons, Justin, Andrew and Marc who also graduated from District No. 70 schools. Bill has devoted his life making a difference for children and will continue to achieve excellence as a member of the Board of Education.

Board Member

Jane Rhodes was first elected to the District 70 Board of Education in 2001 and then re-elected for her second term in 2005. She retired from District No. 70 after 27 years of service in the support field including driving a school bus for 22 years and five years in the print shop plus working as a teacher aide and a secretary.

Jane and Edsel, her husband of 42 years, have three grown sons - Ed, Neal and A. J. along with two grandchildren - Jordan and Jake. Living in the Pinon area, Jane is third generation Pueblo County resident. Always putting children first, Jane is proud to be part of the Board of Education team.

Board Member

David Valdez was elected to the District No. 70 School Board in November, 2005, representing District 5. As a new board member, David is eager to bring fresh ideas and a new perspective to the table. The director of parks and recreation for Colorado City Metro District, David is married and a father of four sons, three of whom attend District 70 schools. He wants his mountain district of Rye, Colorado City and Beulah to be poised for the inevitable growth of the student population there, by being involved in the long-range planning process. He looks forward to his role in helping the district achieve excellence as a District 70 board member.
