Pueblo School District No. 70 is fully committed to providing an equal educational opportunity for all students enrolled in the district. The district notes that to meet the needs of Limited English Proficient (LEP) students, and to assist these students in reaching the high academic standards adopted by the district’s Board of Education and the Colorado State Board of Education, it intends to provide suitable, equitable, developmentally appropriate, and meaningful instructional programs for such students in kindergarten through grade 12 in accordance with the requirements of federal and state statutes as well as Colorado Department of Education’s regulations and guidelines.
The district is committed to providing an alternative English language program as long as the need exists in the district. The district respectfully invites the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to support the enclosed Improvement Plan and to provide the district with any technical assistance necessary to successfully execute the actions in the attached plan.
