Exceptional Student Services

Pueblo County School District 70's Exceptional Student Services (ESS) program supports over 2,000 students with diverse emotional, intellectual and physical needs. The program focuses on providing specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique requirements, ensuring they can meet educational standards aligned with the general curriculum. ESS collaborates with various specialists, including case managers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and school psychologists, to deliver comprehensive support. This includes developing Individual Education Programs (IEPs), facilitating assistive technology and coordinating related health services to promote students' academic and social success.

The district emphasizes equal access and educational excellence for students with disabilities by adapting instruction methods and providing necessary accommodations. The ESS team works closely with families, educators and community resources to foster a supportive environment that addresses student needs holistically.
