SCIENCE

  • Ask logical question based on observations of the world around us
  • Plan and conduct investigations based on the Scientific Method
    • Questions - What does the scientist want to learn more about?
    • Research - Gathering Information
    • Hypothesis - An educated guess of an answer to the question
    • Procedure/Method - Written and carefully followed step-by-step experiment designed to test the hypothesis
    • Data - Information collected during the experiment
    • Observation - Written description of what was noticed during the experiment
    • Conclusion - Was the hypothesis correct or incorrect

 

SOCIAL STUDIES

  • Ask questions to sequence events in chronological order of the past, the present, and the future
  • Analyze the similarities and differences between places, people, and cultures near and far
  • Distinguish between ownership and shared resources as it related to our world
  • Discuss the difference between needs and wants
  • Compose a situation in which we define and apply good citizenship

 

MUSIC

  • Perform simple songs to a steady beat
  • Recognize basic symbols in music
  • Respond to music through active listening and movement
  • Recognize that music comes from different places in the world

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
