Pueblo West Schools

• Four new classrooms were constructed at the end of the building to to address the need for additional instructional space and to create an improved learning environment

• new high-efficiency, air-cooled chiller that uses environmentally friendly refrigerant was installed to replace the inefficient and unserviceable unit

• several leaks throughout the building were repaired
• a roof drain was installed on the north wall near the playground
• smoke evacuation vents above the stage were resealed to prevent leakage
  (Potential mill levy improvement: replace roof on rotation schedule)

• windows and doors were resealed or replaced to mitigate the issue of significant water infiltration around the building
• the sidewalk along the north side of the building, near the playground, was replaced to ensure proper drainage of water, channeling it away from the building

• several corrective measures were taken to address the amount of water that was running down the exterior wall of the gym
• the roofing, flashing and roof drains were repaired
• exterior masonry was repaired and waterproofed
• damage to the interior wall was repaired and repainted

• the northeast wall foundation was repaired to correct settling and separation caused by improper site drainage

• the old parking lot was removed and isolated full-depth repairs were done where there was cracking
• ADA parking stalls were regraded
• the entire lot was was resurfaced
